What is the Fall Fundraiser?
What is the Fall Fundraiser?
The Merton School Fall Fundraiser is a 19-day fundraiser, with Bounce-a-palooza Day to celebrate a successful fundraiser taking place on 9/25/2026.
Our goal is to raise $50,000.
The fundraising system itself will remain open until October 4, 2026.

1.) Log in or Sign up with PledgeStar
2.) Enter your (parent) information, NOT your student's information.
Then press 'Submit'.
3.) The system will take you to our event page where you'll complete all your 'tasks'.
4.) Scroll down a bit to add your student(s).
Enter their first name & last name.
Select their Classroom Teacher (Primary) OR 1st Hour Homeroom Teacher (Intermediate) from the drop-down list. See our list of Team Options.
Click "Add".
If you need to add another student to your family, you'll click "Add Another Student" and repeat the process for your additional kiddos.
If you have no additional children to add, just keep scrolling to the next step.

6.) Edit your email.
The drafted email is what we have crafted for you to send to your friends & family. No edits can be made to this letter.
You can upload a photo of your kid(s), if desired.
7.) Next, you'll need to list the email addresses of those you'd like to send the email to.
If you've used PledgeStar before, you can Import Family & Friends from your Last Event.
You can Select Family & Friends from your Gmail, Yahoo, or Microsoft Address Book.
You can manually Add a Family or Friend.
If you're manually Adding a Family or Friend, you'll just type their:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
Mobile Phone Number (optional!)
The name the kid(s) would call that person (i.e. - Grandma)
Then press 'Send'.
8.) You can see your child(ren)'s individul success by looking at their Progress.
The system has defaulted each student to have a goal of $100, but the Progress chart will show the total for how many kids are in the family. (In this example, there are two children).
You can Change your Goals if desired.
8.) You can see your child(ren)'s Team Progress by checking the Leader Board.
Event Progress shows the progress of the whole school's fundraising effort toward our goal. Can you help us reach our goal of $50,000?
Check out each Classroom / Homeroom Team's Progress by reviewing the 'Amount Raised' chart. Remember, each Team is working together to achieve their Team Incentives!
** These reports are LIVE and will be constantly changing!
9.) Share out your student / family link. Once you have added at least one family member or friend to send your email out to, your link to share on social media will become available.

As an individual student, collect $300 or more to be entered into a Raffle to win some awesome prizes!
The Top Earner at Primary & Top Earner at Intermediate will get first & second choice (based on earnings) of their pick of the Raffle Prizes!
Prizes to include items, gift certificates, or passes to the businesses listed below.
Intermediate Only - Get an Otter Pop!
Sign up for the Fundraiser and get an Otter Pop during your lunch hour!
Come see us at the Concession Stand in the cafeteria starting on 9/21.
Team Incentives
Team Incentives
Work together with your classmates to earn Team Incentives!
The number of students registered and dollars earned and (recorded individually through the PledgeStar website) will feed into each team's efforts. No additional record-keeping is needed; everything will calculate automatically.
If a team is eligible for a Team incentive, the teacher will be notified (and announce to parents & students) and will work with the PTO to determine what day that incentive will be awarded. This allows for the teacher to best accommodate their team's schedule.

To celebrate the success of our fundraiser, all students, parents, and community members are invited to participate in Bounce-a-Palooza on Friday, September 25, 2026!
Bounce-a-Palooza will be held on the front lawn of Merton Primary School. Parents may park in the lots at Merton Primary (front lot & back lot), and at Merton Intermediate. Please RSVP here if you plan to join us.

We have family & friends asking if there's a way to make a donation outside of the electronic option on the website. Is that allowed?
Yes! Absolutely! They can make a donation via cash or check. Please address the payment to Merton PTO.

I have multiple kids at school; how does PledgeStar work for my family?
I have multiple kids at school; how does PledgeStar work for my family?
If you have multiple children at school, you’ll create a page for your family and list each student within that.
When the system sends an email out to request donations, it will send one email on behalf of your family as a whole. Any donation received will be split evenly among your kids.
Each kid will earn incentives individually and as part of their classroom effort.

The money raised will go to the Merton PTO. This year's money will go towards:
New Mascot costume
New speakers for the gym
Replacing athletic equipment
Teacher requests
Student needs
Fun family-friendly events for our Merton School community.

What has PTO fundraising supported in the past?
What has PTO fundraising supported in the past?
The PTO has used fundraising funds for a wide variety of things, from a specific, focused project, to more general and overarching. In the end, everything we do directly supports the students and staff at Merton.
2025-2026: Turf soccer field funds, classroom supplies, teacher requests, and student needs! Our goal was to raise $45,000. We raised over $60,000!
2024-2025: Financial support to upgrade or repair playground equipment and enhance recess materials. Expand accessibility to school events and activities. Support staff and community requests.
2023-2024: Future School Enhancements, Staff Support/Appreciation Events, Ongoing PTO Efforts/Activities/Projects
2022-2023: Enhancements to Outdoor Play Areas
2021-2022: Support PTO sponsored projects (some highlights are....teacher appreciation events, college scholarships for Merton graduates, family events, student and staff grants, and large improvements to both schools).
2020-2021: There was no fundraiser, this was the year of COVID-19
2019-2020: {Intermediate} PE facility expansion + {Primary} in + outdoor play enhancements
2018-2019: Phase 2 Intermediate Playground (surfacing +)
2016-2017: Primary School Library renovation, giving a % back to each classroom, and exploring a school theater production

Families can send in cash or check in an envelope labeled with their student's name and teacher's name. The PTO team will input this donation amount into the student's account so they can get credit for it toward individual and classroom incentives.
