Hey Merton Families and Volunteers! We did it!! 😁
As the 2025–2026 school year wraps up, I am just so incredibly grateful for this community. Thanks to your amazing energy, generosity, and time, it has been an absolute blast of a year at Merton Schools!
We packed the calendar with so many fun memories. We kicked things off with our summertime Classroom Connections, our Mum Sale, and a perfect Outdoor Movie Night. And can we talk about the Color Run? Thanks to you, we raised nearly $60,000, which helped to fund our year of exciting activities!
Because of your support, we were able to pull off:
Book Fairs: Fall fairs at both the Primary and the Intermediate, and a spring fair at the Primary School.
Fun Events: Holiday Workshop, the Sock Hop, the Intermediate-Only Dance, and two super fun new skate nights at Skateland in Waukesha.
Culver’s Nights: Every single month, you guys showed up and filled the restaurant to the brim!
End-of-Year Fun: We wrapped up the year by purchasing the t-shirts and supplies for Celebration Day, plus popsicles for every single student.
We also loved showering our amazing Merton staff with love this year. Between the Amazon Wishlists (where you shipped supplies straight to classrooms), monthly treats, custom appreciation bakery items, and our "Camp Appreciation" Staff Appreciation Week in May, we made sure they felt the love!
A massive, heartfelt thank you to our volunteers and donors. Your willingness to jump in and help always blows me away. Whether you worked on a project from home, took the lead on a big event, or helped out inside the school buildings—we simply cannot do this without you. THANK YOU!
The school year might be over, but the fun isn't totally stopping for the summer. Keep an eye out for our upcoming Popsicle Playdates and Classroom Connections for 4K and 5K. Plus, we get to celebrate the awesome results of our fundraising! Stay tuned for a Turf-Reveal & Grill-out, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new turf. We've also provided financial support for an updated library at the Intermediate School, which is coming soon!
Starting in the fall, we’re changing the vibe of our PTO meetings. We want these to be way more about networking, socializing, and building community between parents and teachers.
We will still meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6PM at the Merton Village Hall, but we are ditching the formal "business meeting" style. Instead, we’ll do a quick shout-out about what’s coming up and how to get involved, and spend the rest of the time just hanging out and chatting. We would LOVE for you to come hang out, make some new friends, and see what we're all about. It'll be so fun, I promise!! 😁
We appreciate you so much, Merton family! Thank you for your energy, your constant support, and for always showing up for our school. Have an amazing, safe summer!
With endless gratitude,
Katie Farchmin
